Happy Birthday Backgrounds

Today is my brother in law, Peter’s birthday.  Peter is married to my sister, Emily.  I first met Peter at St. Lawrence University.  He was dating my sister back then (that is a long time ago!). I think he was a senior and I was a freshman.   Peter and his roommate got two of the cutest puppies from the same litter.  One was male (Ace) and one was female (Crystal).  Peter and his roommate had to go away for some reason and asked me to dog sit.  We decided it was best if I just spent the night at his fraternity with the dogs instead of bringing them both back to my dorm room.  I was just a freshman and I think it was early in the year so I didn’t know a lot of people.  I have to say, it was a night I will never forget.  I think I decided to try to go to sleep around midnight.  At 12:30 the door opened and a few people came in and partied.  They stayed about a half hour.  I turned off the light again and a few minutes later the door opened again and a few different people came in and partied.  I think this happened all night.  As you can tell, I didn’t get much sleep but I had a lot of fun!

Here is a fun birthday card I made using a variety of Stampin’ Up! products.  The background of the card was made using the stamp set called Birthday Backgrounds.  It is a fun set that as a variety of background images to use.  My favorite is the streamers.  I stamped them in almost every color in the Brights family.  Then I stamped the confetti in Balmy Blue.

The “happy” was made using a new set called Lined Alphabet.  I first stamped the letters in Versamark and then embossed them with White Embossing Powder.  This stamp set has (sort of) matching dies that are so much fun.  Watch the video below to see how they work.  They explain it much better than I could.

The ‘Birthday” is from the Happy Birthday Thinlits Die.  I just cut off the happy part.

Happy birthday Peter!  Thanks for the memories!
