Wisteria Wishes

Stampin Up Wisteria Wishes

I have seen a lot of cards online lately using a black background.  I love how the dark background makes the colored images pop so I decided to give it a try.  I also wanted to use the new “Online Exclusive” embossing folders that Stampin’ Up! has available for purchase.  If you don’t know about the “Online Exclusives”, they are various products such as stamps, dies, embossing folders and embellishments that are not in any catalog.  Stampin’ Up! is going to offer more products a few times a year.  If you would like to check out the products you can click HERE.

The first thing I did for this card was to take a 4″ x 5.25″ piece of Basic Black card stock and emboss it using one of the Basics 3 D embossing folders.  This is a set of 3 folders you can purchase in a bundle.  They didn’t give specific names to each of them but the one I used is what I would call a cross-hatch design.  There is another one that has dots and another that has small flowers.  Here is what the “cross-hatched” one looks like up close:

Stampin Up Basic 3D embossing foldersI layered the embossed piece of Basic Black card stock on a Balmy Blue card base.

Next, I used the stamp set called Wisteria Wishes.  I stamped the flowers in Balmy Blue ink and then took a Night Of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker and dabbed some color over the Balmy Blue ink.  I stamped the stems in Granny Apple Green ink and cut everything out using the coordinating Wisteria Dies.  If you purchase the stamp set and dies in a bundle you can save 10%.  I adhered the stems to the card using Multipurpose Glue and the flowers using Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set called Heron Habitat in Balmy Blue ink and cut it out using the Stylish Shapes dies.  I adhered it to the card using Dimensionals.  Lastly, I added some Enamel Dots Essentials.
