Geared Up Garage

Stampin Up Geared Up Garage

Geared Up Garage is a perfect stamp set to use for a masculine card.  It has coordinating dies called Garage Gears which cut out all the shapes in the stamp set plus it also cuts out all kinds of gears in different sizes.  Sadly, this stamp and die set is retiring on May 2nd.  Actually the stamp set will be available until May 2nd but if the dies sell out prior to that, then they are gone for good.

To make this card I decided to use the Designer Series Paper called Well Suited which is in the 2021 January – June Mini Catalog.  This DSP, which is also retiring, is also perfect for making masculine cards.  I had some leftover pieces of this DSP so I layered a couple of them so they would form a point.  I adhered them to a Smoky Slate card base and then cut off the excess with paper snips.  I cut out the gears using the Garage Gears Dies.  I wanted to cover the holes in the gears so I punched out a bunch of different sized circles and adhered them to the back of the gears.  As a side note, I need to tell you that ALL the circle punches in the catalog are retiring on May 2nd too.  All of them.  These will sell out quickly so I suggest purchasing them before they do because once they are gone, they are gone for good.  It is so easier to use a punch to cut out a circle than dies so everyone needs them.

After I cut out the dies, I stamped the car in Memento Black Ink and colored it using a Dark Cherry Cobbler Blends.  I cut it out using the coordinating die and adhered it over the gears using Dimensionals.  Lastly I stamped the sentiment on a leftover piece of Basic White card stock.

Another Mystery Parts Card

A couple of weeks ago I posted about an activity I am doing with my downline called Mystery Parts (thanks again for the idea, Diana Gibbs).  This is where one person in the group send the others some products to make a card.  These products include Designer Series Paper, cardstock, embellishments and whatever you want to send.  Then each of us makes a card and posts it on our Facebook Group. The idea is you have to use everything they send us plus add your own stamps, dies, punches, etc.  It is so much fun that we decided to do it every 2-3 weeks.

These are the “parts” that Kim sent us.

It included Very Vanilla and Early Espresso cardstock, a piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, Metallic Pearls and Linen Thread.  I decided these “parts” would make a great masculine card.

Stampin Up Geared Garage

I paired the products with the stamp set called Geared Up Garage.  This stamp set has coordinating dies called Garage Gears.  I first stamped the car in Early Espresso ink and then colored it with a Cherry Cobbler Blend.  I stamped the cloud of smoke and the sentiment also using Early Espresso ink and cut it out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I also cut the DSP using the Stitched Rectangles Dies too.  I attached the car using Stampin Dimensionals.  I cut the gears out of Cherry Cobbler ink and added the Metallic Pearls to the middle.  I am not sure how masculine that is but it worked.  The last thing I did was wrap the Linen Thread around the bottom before adhering everything together.

Here is Kim’s card.  I love the pop of Cajun Craze cardstock on it.

Here is Karin’s.  That moose is perfect!

This is Karen’s.  I love this one too!

This is Char’s card.  Char makes very simple yet beautiful cards.

Here is Lynette’s card.  I love it.  I almost used this set and it works great with these products.

Aren’t they so talented?  I love how each one is so different.  We just got the parts for our next card so looked for the posts.  It is so much fun!

Geared Up Garage

Today is my youngest son, Zachary’s birthday.  Zachary is an amazing man.  Honestly, I am not sure how my children all grew up into men so fast.  I still think of them as kids until I realize how old they are.  Anyway, Zachary truly is amazing.  He is kind, patient, a wonderful father and a wonderful son.  Rob and I are very proud of him.

Although Zachary is not a car guy, I made his this card for his birthday.  Geared Up Garage is a great stamp set to use for masculine cards.  I don’t have many sets I can call masculine so this one gets used a lot.  I love the gear dies that go with it (called Garage Gears).  These products were in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and I am so glad they carried over.

The colors I used for this card are Basic Black, Basic Gray and Whisper White. First I stamped the background using Basic Gray Ink on Basic Gray cardstock.  Then I cut the gears out using Silver Foil Paper.  I stamped the car and the sentiment out using Basic Gray ink and then colored it using Daffodil Delight Blends.  Then I cut it out using the new dies called Stitched Nested Labels.  I love these dies because they are a fun shape and they put little stitch holes in the inside and outside of the cardstock.

Happy birthday, Zachary.  I love you and I am so proud of who you have turned into.

All Geared Up Birthday

Saturday was my son, Sam’s birthday.  He lives in Tennessee and we were at his house for his birthday.  Only one thing was missing.  Sam.  He had a conference and we were there to take care of Madelyn and Nolan while he was gone.  We had a great time with the grands even though Sam was not there.  We celebrated without him. As you can expect, pictures will be posted soon!

I made this birthday card using the stamp set called Geared Up Garage. It has matching dies called Garage Gears and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.   As you know, it is one of my favorite sets in the Stampin’ Up!® 2019 Occasions Catalog.  It is funny.  A friend mentioned something about not getting this set because it was too vintage for them.  I never thought of it as being vintage until she mentioned it.  I guess that means it is a perfect set for everyone and it makes great masculine cards.

The colors I used for this card are Blueberry Bushel, Call Me Clover (in honor of St. Patrick’s Day) and Whisper White.  I cut out two sets of dies and then layered them together underneath the sentiment strip.

Happy birthday, Sam.  You are an amazing young man and Dad and I are very proud of you! Maybe next year we can really be together!

Geared Up Garage

Here is a fun, bright and shiny birthday card using the stamp set called Geared Up Garage.  This stamp set is in the 2019 Stampin’ Up!® Occasions Catalog.  It has a matching set of dies called Garage Gears and you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.  I love the little gears these dies cut out.  They are all different sizes and full of details.  This Bundle is perfect for making a masculine card for birthdays or Father’s Day.

To make this card I first cut out all the gears using Silver Foil Sheets.  Then I stamped the car in Memento Black Ink and cut it out using the matching die. I stamped the sentiment also in Memento Ink.  I layered all the pieces onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock and wrapped a piece of the Black/Silver 1/4″ Striped Metallic ribbon around it.  The ribbon is nice and sparkly while still being masculine.  I layered all of that onto a piece of the Silver Foil Sheets and then the Basic Black cardstock.

If you purchase the Geared Up Garage Bundle and the ribbon you will be eligible to get something from the Sale-a-bration Catalog for Free!!

Geared Up Garage

I haven’t posted a card using the Geared Up Garage in a while so I thought I would get it out again.  I just love those little gears.  I have no idea why.  I’m certainly not a mechanic and neither is Rob but I just think they are so cute.  I first saw them at OnStage in November and I knew they would be the first thing I would get.  Maybe it is because it is so hard to make a masculine card and this set is perfect for that.

To make this card I first cut out the gears using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies out of Mossy Meadow cardstock.  I stamped the tool box in Gray Granite and cut it out using the same set of dies.  Then I ran a piece of Gray Granite cardstock through my Big Shot using the Hexagons Embossing Folder.  I stamped the sentiment onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock and used the Banner Triple Punch to cut out the end.  I did the same thing with a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock.  The sentiment is from the stamp set called Humming Along which is also in the 2019 Occasions catalog.  I just realized, as I am going through all my paper and can’t find it that the Designer Series Paper is from a pack in the 2018 Holiday Catalog and therefore, is now retired.  Oops.  Sorry about that!

Geared Up Garage and the matching Garage Gears Thinlits Dies are perfect for Father’s Day, birthdays and thank you cards.  You can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle.

Don’t forget it is Sale-a-bration time! Earn FREE merchandise with a qualifying purchase.  Get an extra $25 in Hostess Benefits with a $250 single or group order! Join my Stampin Up! family and get a $175 worth of products for $99  or get the Carry & Craft Tote and $175 worth of products for $129!

More OnStage Sneak Peeks

Here are a couple more sneak peeks of products that will be in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.

This first card was made with products in the Suite called Classic Garage.  To be honest, when I first saw this suite I was not that interested in it.  I don’t have any more Dads living so I don’t usually buy sets for Father’s Day.  Then I saw the dies.  Oh my goodness.  That gear die, which you can see on this card, is adorable.  I just love it.  The stamp set is called Geared Up Garage and the matching dies are Garage Gears Thinlits (you can save 10% by purchasing them in a Bundle).  The Suite also includes Classic Garage Designer Series Paper, ribbon (which you can see on this card.  It is black with a silver stripe in the middle), and embellishments.  I have been told those cute gears also cut out images from the Designer Series Paper although I have not tried it since I don’t own it.  Yet.

This next card was made using products from the Needlepoint Nook Suite.  This Suite includes the stamp set called Needle & Thread and has matching dies called Needlepoint Elements (yes, you will be able to save 10% purchasing them in a Bundle).  They Suite also has Designer Series Paper, buttons,  and Old Olive Linen Thread.

Here is a close up of one of the dies we used on this card.

Isn’t that a fun die?

All of these products will be available beginning January 3rd.  If you are a Demonstrator you will be able to pre-order many of them beginning December 5th.

Tomorrow begins the Stampin’ Up! Year End Close Out Sale.  During this promotion, you will be able to save on a selection of retiring and surplus items—while supplies last. It is better to place orders sooner rather than later, because supplies are limited and the Year-End Closeout ends on January 2. After that, some of your favorite retiring items may be gone for good!  Check back tomorrow for more details!
